Panda-Play Playgroup

What is Panda-Play?

Panda-Play is a Playgroup coordinated by the South Australian Chinese Adoption Support Group (SACAS) Incorporated.  It is intended for parents and carers with adopted children of Chinese Heritage up to 5 years of age.  However the biological children of SACAS members and their children adopted from other non-Chinese countries are also most welcome to attend.  In addition to regular playgroup activities, Panda-Play also aims to explore and celebrate aspects of Chinese Culture with our children through fun activities.

Who Coordinates Panda-Play?

Playgroups require active input from all group members and parents and carers are expected to assist in the administration and organisation of their group.  This includes assisting with activities, cleaning up and bringing a piece of fruit with you for the children's morning tea.  You can see the current coordinators of Panda-Play by visiting the Board Members page.

The Purpose and Benefits of Playgroups

Playgroups provide a relaxed and fun environment for parents, carers and children to meet.  Panda-Play has been established with the assistance of Playgroups SA and makes use of their excellent facilities at 91 Prospect Rd, Prospect at 9.30-11.30am every Monday morning during school terms.  Panda Play is a not-for-profit service, however a small fee applies in order to cover administrative costs and registration with Playgroups SA.

Possible Waiting List

Please be advised that due to the popularity of this service there may be a waiting period until a vacancy emerges within a particular session time, or until enough numbers enable the creation of a new session time.  For further details, session times and costs please email SACAS on: contact_sacas@yahoo.com.au

Resource Library

In late 2007 Panda-Play received a grant to purchase cultural and adoption related resources for children 0-5 years of age.  This library of resources was established in early 2008 and provides participants with a rich source of educational and fun products.  The Panda-Play Library is arguably the best library of resources available in South Australia for families with children adopted from China.
