a Child of Chinese Heritage

Inter-country adoption programs currently exist for the People's
Republic of China, the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Hong Kong.
Domestic adoptions may also involve children of Chinese
heritage.
All
adoptions in South Australia are administered by the Adoption
Family Information Service (AFIS), which is part of the Department
of Family and Community Services. AFIS will be able to provide you
with information and advice relating to available adoption
programs.
However
the Chinese have a saying that "to know the road ahead, you must ask those who are coming back.” For
this reason the SACAS Board encourage you to make use of this web
site; to email SACAS with your questions; or to simply attend one
of our events and network with our many helpful and supportive
members. SACAS also recommends that you become involved in the
"Host Family Scheme" coordinated through AFIS. This
scheme puts families in touch with those who have successfully
completed the process. The information and friendships gained
through this program are invaluable. |
